The Borough is posting no parking signs in the Colonial Village section of the Borough. The signs state: "NO PARKING WITHOUT PERMIT OF VEHICLES EXCEEDING 9,001 LBS., CLASS A TO C VEHICLES OF MORE THAN 5,000 LBS., MOTOR HOMES, TRAVEL TRAILERS, BOATS, BOAT TRAILERS, GENERAL PURPOSE TRAILERS AND DUMPSTERS." The following streets are affected: Blaker Drive, Morris Road, Forge Road, Colonial Drive, Valley Road, Hamilton Road, a section of Third Street (Between State & Blaker), and a portion of State Street. Letters will be sent to the owners of vehicles in violation outlining the specific violations. If you have questions, please contact the Borough Office.
HELP WANTED

East Greenville Borough is looking for crossing guards for the upcoming school year.  The intersections crossing guards protect are: Fourth and Jefferson Streets, Fifth and Main Streets, Fourth and State Streets, and Third and State Streets. The times are 7:00a.m. to 8:30a.m. and 2:30p.m. to 3:00p.m. Applications are available at the Borough Office, 206 Main Street, East Greenville, and at the link below.

The August newspaper and cardboard collection date has been changed from the first Saturday to the second Saturday, August 9th. Please do not place your newspaper and cardboard out for collection until the SECOND Saturday. If you have any questions, please contact the Borough office.

The Borough has awarded a contract for the installation of handicap curb ramps throughout the Borough. This project is funded with a grant from the Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Development. This project is scheduled to begin August 12th, and be completed in about one month. This project will involve installation of depressed curb ramps with truncated domes. Numerous intersections throughout the borough have been selected for this work. There will be work zones set up around the affected areas. Please use extra caution in the work areas. Equipment may be parked on the street in the work area overnight. ReadyNotifyPA can send you an E-mail, or send a text message to your cell phone or other device. You let ReadyNotifyPA know how you’d like to be notified. Alerts are free; however, your cellular provider may charge for text messaging. Receiving text messages is easy and not just for kids. All subscribers will get emergency alerts. You may also choose to get other alerts, such as severe weather, transportation delays and crime alerts if offered by your county. You choose the Southeastern Pennsylvania county or counties -- Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia -- that will send you alerts. Pick the county or counties where you spend most of your time – it can be where you live, work or play.

In recent years, its focus has broadened to include all hazards such as natural disasters and accidents. What is a ReadyNotifyPA account? Your ReadyNotifyPA account is a record of your contact information, such as your name, cell phone numbers and E-mail addresses where you would like to receive emergency alerts or other messages. You control this information and can change it at any time. Anyone can sign up for a ReadyNotifyPA account. This service is for you if you live, work or spend time in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

How many devices and E-mail addresses can I sign up? You can add two phone numbers or devices and two E-mail addresses to your ReadyNotifyPA account. Alerts can be sent to all devices listed in your account.

How does ReadyNotifyPA work? In an emergency, an alert will be sent by ReadyNotifyPA. You will receive messages in the way you specified when setting up your account – through an E-mail message or text message to your cell phone, BlackBerry or pager. Read these messages right away and follow the instructions. More instructions may be sent during the emergency, so keep your devices near you.

Who sends the alerts? Local officials in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties will send the alerts. Alerts may be sent to everyone or groups of individuals, depending upon the alert type.

What is text messaging and how do I sign up for it? Text messages are short messages sent to your cell phone. Each message contains between 100 and 160 characters, or about 10 words, depending on your carrier. Many carriers turn on the service automatically. Contact your carrier to make sure your text messaging is turned on.

Will this service cost me anything? It is free to sign up for ReadyNotifyPA, and you can choose the types of alerts you want to get. Your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to get messages on your cell phone or wireless device. Contact your carrier to find out how much these messages may cost you with your current plan. You can choose to stop getting messages at any time.
