Recycling and trash collection is every Monday.
Newspaper and cardboard are collected on the first Saturday of the month.

The below items are picked up every Monday (please set out no earlier than 6 PM Sunday evening).  Use a sturdy bin, can or another open container for the recyclables. Whitetail Disposal offers recycling bins at a nominal fee.  Call them directly at 610-754-0103 to purchase a recycling bin.  All items may be co-mingled; no separating is necessary. We ask that in case of windy/inclement weather, you use discretion in how you place your recycling out to prevent the recycling from blowing out of the container.

The following items are collected each week on a Monday:
-  Plastics #1 thru #7
-  Glass in clear, brown and green (no window panes)
-  Tin and aluminum cans

Newspaper and cardboard are collected curbside (not in alleys) the first  Saturday of each month by the Boy Scouts.  (For the month of August, collection will take place on the second Saturday). Please separate cardboard from newspapers. Must be tied in bundles with sturdy string or twine on all four sides no larger than 4'x4'.  DO NOT place in a plastic bag or bin! Failure to follow procedure will result in your recycling not being taken. Magazines can be collected, but please bundle them with newspaper, not cardboard.

Montgomery County offers several hazardous waste recycling events as well as tire collection and an opportunity to purchase compost bins and rain barrels.  Visit their website at for more information.

Trash Collection

Trash collection day is Monday.  Trash & recycling should be placed out on Sunday evenings after 6:00 p.m.  All trash must be inside an East Greenville Borough Trash Bag and will be picked up as early as 6:00 a.m. on Mondays.  If a holiday falls on a Monday, trash collection will take place on Tuesday that week.  The bags may be purchased at the following locations:

East Greenville Borough Hall - 206 Main Street

The bags are sold in packs of 5 bags for $5.00. If you wish to buy individual bags, you must purchase them at Borough Hall.

Bulk items may be placed out with a Bulk Item Sticker. The cost is $10.00 each.  Bulk items included are those that can be picked up by two people including furniture, mattress, box-spring, lumber, carpeting (tied together), etc. Items not included are tires, auto batteries, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. Bulk item stickers are available where trash bags are sold.

Branch Chipping

Branch chipping is performed April through October, every other week. Monday/Tuesday is the preferred collection day at this time, but that may change due to weather or scheduling conflicts.

Please follow the below guidelines:
* Place branches where you place your trash.
* We can spend no more than 10 minutes at any given stop.
* Stacking branches in an orderly fashion as close to the alley as possible saves pick up time. You may place smaller branches in a container to assist the crew.
* Branches must be less than 2 inches in diameter.
* We cannot remove downed trees.
*Remove all soil and dirt from shrub roots.
* No boards or lumber, and no weeds

Points to Remember About Trash Collection

1.  Only four bags of trash a week per residence may be placed out for collection, not to exceed the 50-pound weight limit.

2.  All bags must be closed securely to avoid any rubbish from being scattered by animals or the wind.

3.  Do not tie your trash bag to the handle
of your Can. This is not acceptable and may result in your trash being left behind.

4.  Trash bags must be placed out on the night before the scheduled pickup day.

5.  All trash must be placed in a Borough bag.  Tying bags around receptacles is not acceptable.

6.  Keep in mind that failure to follow these rules will result in your trash not being taken away.

7.  During holidays, the schedule may change. Call the office for information if the scheduled collection falls on a holiday.
